Thanks Colbert!
I don’t watch Late Night at the normal aired times. I watch it online…….like you do. I’ll watch it on Twitter/Youtube/Instagram just like Carson wanted me to watch it. But when Colbert got fired 10-11 months ago…..he got my interest. For a lot of reasons. He’s funny / The Colbert Report was great / He seems nice / He’s talented. Also, there are a lot of things I will blindly rep no matter what. For example: Misouri football / Missouri basketball / Anyone or thing from Missouri / 2nd city people. Colbert comes from that long line of 2nd city people who are awesome. Here is a scene called “Maya” that’s about 10 minutes long but still pretty fun. This taping took place in 2009.
I had watched his show the first few years for these exact reasons (stated above) and I was a bit….underwhelmed. It’s like anything in tv….he/the staff was trying to figure out what the show is. He had great bits but it took some time to figure it all out. He then figured it out. He was been a man trying not to do a super political show but then Trump became president and Colbert started doing some politics / making fun of Trump. And now he’s been good for a long time. But, I have to say the last 5 months or so of The Late Show W/Stephen Colbert has been great. To all the people that I know that’s worked there or working there. Congrats. What an awesome show you guys made. You should all be super proud. I’m proud for you. And happy for you.
I’ve met Colbert a few times. He’s always been nice and generous and funny. I’m excited to see what he does after the LOTR movie that he’s writing. I say all this to say…….I’m going to miss The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The end has been really good. Colbert leaving has brought me back to late night tv. Don’t leave Stephen!
Tonight’s his final Late Show show….again, it’s been a good run gang. I remain a fan of you, Mr. Colbert. CBS, what are you doing?
Anyway, here are some fun Colbert moments of the last 5-6 months. Just in case you haven’t been watching.
